Java Software Engineer
Hardware
Design Engineer
Java Software Engineer
If you are a Java
programmer with a passion for software engineering and are looking for
something a little different than the same old web site work, then
NetAcquire is where you should be.
Our Products
We build high-end embedded systems. Forget about thermostats. We’re
talking high-end. We put a web server inside our systems when everyone
else was using COM ports. Now, over a decade later, we have
sophisticated and robust client/server communications with GUIs that
control all aspects of our products, monitor internal operations in
real-time and graph live results of high throughput processing. Every
day customers bring us requests for GUI changes to things we’ve done
before as well as whole new challenges that certainly keep things
interesting. We respond to these requests at a speed that often leaves
them in awe.
Your Job
You’ll be a member of a team of software and electronics hardware
engineers and your job is putting a “face” on our embedded products. We
work multiple projects in parallel so there is never a dull moment.
You’ll get to write plenty of code and we expect you to know or quickly
learn many other professional engineering skills such as effort
estimation for tasks, OOD architectural concepts and patterns, unit
testing automation, etc. While our server products often reside in a
rack within a locked room, network-enabled PCs running your GUI are
usually front and center in a mission-critical application. That will be
the fruits of your labor that our customers will see every day.
Your Knowledge
- Solid object-oriented
design methodology understanding
- Java at an intermediate
to expert level
- Multi-threaded design
experience
- Knowledge of applet and
application design
- Understanding through
experience of what makes a great GUI
- Good verbal
communications for working directly with customers
- Excellent written
communications
- Basic network, TCP, and
client/server computing understanding
- Four-year Computer
Science or Computer Engineering degree
Our Other-Skill
Interests
- Electronics hardware
understanding
- Application programming
with Swing
- NetBeans use
- Distributed objects use
(CORBA/DCOM)
- Agile development
methodologies such as SCRUM
Due to government restrictions, candidates must
